Henry’s wife is named in the baptism records of their children. There was a marriage of a Mr Henry Hammond to a Mrs Mary Griffith in 1688 in Ludlow, but this may be a different couple. The Henry Hammond in that marriage record is described as of St Dunstan's, London, and Mary was of Woofferton, Shropshire.

Henry was named as an overseer in the 1695 will of [his brother] William Hammond of Blunden in Stottesdon.

Henry held land in or near the township of Bardley in Stottesdon, according to a lease and release from 1717 (Shropshire Archives 1045/283-284).

Commentary

The baptism is given as there seems to have been only one Henry Hammond baptized and (later) having children in the area during the period.
