John Bruckhouse’s will mentions his wife, Elizabeth, and states that Thomas Cocke was the grandfather of his children. The will of Thomas Cocke mentions “my daughter Elizabeth Bruckhouse the wyfe of John Bruckhouse.”

The will of Elizabeth Bruckhouse:


In the name of God Amen upon the Eight day of Februarie in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousande sixe hundred and thirteene I Elizabeth Bruckehouse of Northwoode within the parish of Stotestone and Diocesse of Heref widowe sicke in body but of good and perfecte remembrance (praysed be God) doe ordaine and make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following. First I Comend my soule into the mercifull handes of Allmightie God my onely maker and Redeemer, And my bodie to be buried in Christen buriall, Item I give unto William Donnes Children three shillings and unto William Nicholls Children six pence a peece Item I give unto Alice Hintons daughter Margret give shillings to be taken out of my Rent of the Burgage, Item I give unto Mary my Daughter my old gowne my old petude(?) one payer of old hoose and a payer of shoes, The rest of all my goods and Cattells moveable and unmoveable whatsoever I give and bequeath unto John Hamonde my sonne in lawe whome alsoe I make and appointe sole Executor of this my last will and Testament, To see my Debtes legacies and funerall Expences discharged and payed accordingly, debtes owinge to the said Testator, Imprimis the Executor or Administrator of Mr Francis Blunte oweth me by specialtie xiiij li, Item Thomas Ree of Ribley oweth me for kyne v li xiij s vi d, Therto bearing witnes, John Barker Clerke vicar of Stotesden, John Hamond thelder William Donne and William Nicholls.
