The date is given by Anderson. Baldwin gives “ca. 697.” The death is recorded in the Annals of Ulster s.a. 697. Fraser (p. 251) gives 696 or 697.

This relationship is given by Anderson, by Fraser, and by Baldwin.

Mother: unknown.

Spouse: unknown.

Baldwin notes that Eochu’s wife has been given as Spontana, daughter of Gartnait, king of the Picts, but that it is not supported by any good authority. There are some independent reasons to suppose that she may have been a Pictish princess.
