Commentary
Isaac’s parentage:
Isaac was married in 1763 in Winwick. The only plausible baptism is that in Winwick 18 July 1740 of “Isaac son of John Evilstone of Neuton”. “Evilstone” is pretty clearly a mistake for “Eccleston”. There are no other “Evilstones” recorded in Lancashire in indexes.
John seems to have married his second wife, Margaret Smith, widow, in Warrington in 1730. However, it is possible that Isaac’s mother was actually named Jane.
