Commentary
Elizabeth’s parentage:
The 1575 will of John Rotten of Mosely names his daughter Elizabeth Coxe. It also names Elizabeth’s husband Thomas Coxe their two children born by the time of the will, Alice and Dorothy, making the identification secure. John Rotten also names his wife Alice in his will.
Thomas Greves of Hoorestocke, King’s Norton, named his daughter Alice Ratton in his 1550 will. He made an overseer his “son” John Ratton.
