Randle’s will:


In the name of God Amen the seauen and twentith day of October in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred and seauentie I Randle Bushell of Frodsham in the county of Chester husbandman being visited under my good God his correcting hand by sicknes but being of good memory & p[er]fect understanding (praised be my good God therefore) doe constitute ordaine & make this my last will & Testament in manner & forme following vizt first I commend my spirit to God that gave it me, and my body (after my dissolution) to Christian buriall in Frodsham parish Church hoping for saluation of my whole man Soule & body through the merits and satisfaction of Jesus Christ my Lord and only Saviour in whome I steadfastly believe. Item my will is that my debts be payd and my funerall expences made & discharged by my executors herafter herin named out of the whole of my goods. Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Raph Bushell one nagg and three mares with their furniture and geares, with all & singular my husbandry instruments as Cartes ploughes, waines, harrowes Etc. Item I give & bequeath unto my said Sonne Raph a long table which now standes in the parlour, and a dishboard & a cubbord and a Bacon chest which stand in the dwelling howse Item I leave devise & bequeath unto my said sonne Raph Bushell my howse howsing & landes which I have in Frodsham to have & to hold the same after my decease he paying (as my will is) unto his brother Thomas my eldest sonne the summe of five pounds in case my said Thomas be living & shall returne into his native Countrey:

Item I give & bequeath unto my son Edward Bushell the summe of eight pounds. Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Mosse sixe shillings. Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Hinton fowre pounds. Item I give & bequeath to my son in law Thomas Mosse two shillings sixe pence & likewise I bequeath to William Hinton two shillings & six pence. Item I give and bequeath to my grandchild Edward Mosse the son of Thomas tenne pounds. Item I give and bequeath to my other two grandchildren Jonathan & Elizabeth Mosse children to the said thomas Mosse either of them fiftie shillings. Item I give & bequeath unto my two grandchildren the sons of William Hinton either five pounds. Item all the residue of my goods moveable & unmoveable Cattells & Chattells whatsoever I leave give and bequeath unto my wife Alice Bushell & my son Raph Bushell to be equally dividied between them after the payment & discharge of my debts funerall expence & the forementioned legacies. item lastly I ordaine constitute & make my said wife Alice Bushell & my forementioned Son Raph Bushell ioynt executors of this my last will & Testament hopeing that they (as my trust in them reposed is) will see this my last will & Testament truely executed & performed according to the Contents & true meaning thereof:
