Commentary
Mary’s parentage
The burial entry in the Burton Dassett register for Mary’s 18 February 1836 burial records her age at death as 70. This exactly matches a baptism in Burton Dassett on 31 May 1765. The parents in that baptism entry are recorded as “Wm & Eliz. -Yerrow”.
After the death of her first husband, William Bloxham, the Mary Yerrow of this page married James Howe in 1803.
In his 1804 will, William Yerrow senior of Northend in Burton Dassett mentioned his second daughter, “Mary How”. He also mentioned as his grandchildren four of Mary’s children from her first marriage.
William and Elizabeth’s eldest child was baptized in 1761 in Burton Dassett. The Burton Dassett register records the marriage in 1760/1 of William Yerrow and Elizabeth Nichols.
