Relationships

Father: John Sadler (about 1726 - 1814)

Mother: Susanna Johnson (died 1795)

His baptism record gives his parents as John Sadler and Susanna. Susanna’s surname is given as Johnson in her marriage record, and she had a son named Johnson Sadler. The family identification is further solidified by the fact that Wilfrid’s brothers James and Johnson both moved to Lockton, near Thornton Dale. Johnson was a witness at Wilfrid's wedding. Furthermore, James’s family immigrated to Canada, where several were buried near Wilfrid in Salem Cemetery.

Spouse: Mary Maw (1773 - 1829). Married 15 August 1793 in Thornton Dale, Yorkshire.

The date and place are given in the parish registers. The year is given as 1793 in Our Family History.
