Catherine’s will:


In the name of god Amen the nine and twentieth day of May in the two and thirtieth yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of god of England Scottland France and Ireland king defender of the faith And in the yeare of of our lord Christ 1680 I Catherine Beynton wid: of the p[ar]ish of trevegloois in the County of Mountgomery and diocesse of Banger being weake and sicke in body but of perfect memory, praised be god for the same Considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time therof doe make publish and declare this my last will & testament in maner and forme folowing First I Commend my soule to god almighty who gave it me hoping through the merits and mediaton of Jesus Christ my blessed saviour and redeemer to receive full and free pardon of all my sines & my body to the dust whereof it is made to be buried in Christian burial in the p[ar]ish Church of Trevegloois acording to the discreation of my executour hereafter named and as for such temporall estate which it hath pleased god to bestowe upon me I dispose thereof in maner and forme folowing. First I give and bequeath unto Mary the late wife of John Brynton the sume of one shilling. Item I give unto Winifrid the wif of John Garnder the sume of one shilling. Item I give unto my granchild Humphrey Brynton the sume of twenty shillings Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Evan Brynton the bed whereon I now lye and also all the rest of my goods cattel chattels moveable and unmoveable I give and apoint the same to be equaly divided between my said sone Evan Brynton and my daughter Jane Bubb the wife of John Bubb and my daughter Mary the wife of Giles Jarman. And lastly I doe hereby nominate and apoint my said son Evan Brynton to be my sole executor of this my last will and testaament nullifieing and makeing void all other wills by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seale the day and yeare first within written
