Sir Hugh Venables of Kinderton (died about 1367)

Events

Date of Birth: unknown.

Place of Birth: unknown.

Ormerod states that Hugh was apparently a minor in the wardship of the earl of Chester in 9 Edw. II (1315/16).

Date of Death: 22 October 1367.

Place of Death: unknown.

The date (41 Edw. 3) is given by Ormerod (3:189, 3:199). The inquisition post mortem abstracted by Helsby states that the Hugh died on the Friday after the Feast of St Luke last past. This would be either 22 October 1367 or 23 October 1366, depending on when in the regnal year 41 Edw. III the inquisition post mortem was held. The recognizance of 16 Dec. 1367 cited below makes 1367 seem more likely.
