This relationship is given by the Hampshire VCH (5:sub Arreton). It is recorded in the Patent Rolls (See the Evidence section below.) Brand (p. 152) cites the case “Joan widow of Thomas de Evercy junior v. Peter son of Thomas de Evercy senior [CP 40/49]. It is recorded in a 1304 deed (E 329/265 below.)

Mother: Margery.


Spouse: Isabella.

Batton (p. 77) gives evidence which supports this relationship. Isabella was taxed at 40d. to a subsidy at Brympton in 1327.

Brumpton. The hamlet (extent given), held of Simon de Furneaux as of his manor of Astington by knight’s service.

Montacute. A messuage and dovecot,held jointly by the said Peter and Isabel his wife, who still survives, of the prior of Monacute by service of 2s. yearly.

Amy (Ammia) his daughter, whom John de Glamorgan married, aged 24 and more, is his next her.

Confirmation to Geoffrey, the abbot, and the convent of Quarr in the Isle of Wight, of the following grants to their house: …(4) covenant by Peter de Evercy, son of Thomas de Evercy for him and his heirs to A. abbot of Quarr and the convent of that place for payment of 12d. of rent out of the manor of Estaundone for an acre of land in the abbot’s manor of Arieton.
