John Rowles the sonne of Gorge Rowles was bapt the 5 of may 1616


John’s will:


In the name of god Amen the fifte day of may in the yeare of our lorde god one thousand six hundred seuenty and three I John Rowles of harsfield in the County of Glouc. being weeke in Body but parfecte in memory praised bee god for it doe make and ordayne this my laste will and testeamente in maner and forme following firste I bequeath my sowle into the hands of god whoe gaue it hopeing that throught the meritorious death and pashon of Jesus Christe to receue free pardon for all my sines and as for my body to the duste from whence it was framed and as for my worldly goods which the lord hath blessed me with in maner and forme following


Imprimis I giue and bequeaue unto Elnior Rowles my daughter the sume of twenty shilling to be paide to her with in one whoole yeare after my desease

Item I give and bequeaue unto John Rowles my very good freinde one Acker of land Called the bitten acker with one tenemente there upon erected to hime and his heires malle lawfully begotten of his body and for wante of such Ishue malle I give it to his brother Roberte and for wante of such Ishue malle lawfully begoten of his body I give it to the heire malle of the Rowleses and further my will is that after my debts and funerall Expences paid and discharged that the said John Rowles shall pay two my daughter Mary Rowles the some of fifteene shilling euery yeare duereing her nateraull life and further my will is that the sd John Rowles shall pay two my daugher Hester Rowles the some of fifteene shillings euery yeare duering her natrell life and Ceasse either of my daughers shall hapen to die that then her parte shall re mane to the longeste liver of them

Item I giue to my daughter Mary my bigeste Cittell

Item I giue to my daughter Hester my leaste Cittell and one scillett

Item I doe make and ordayne John Rowles my louing kinsman my whoole Executor of all the Reste of the all the goods that I haue


In wittness wherof I haue hereunto set my hand and sealle the day and yeare first aboue written
