Commentary
Mary’s parentage
Mary was married in 1689 at St Nicholas, Warwick. The registers for St Nicholas record the baptism in 1670 of “Mary the daughter of Joseph Gibbons”. Additional evidence that this is the correct baptism is that Mary named her eldest son “Joseph”.
Joseph Gibbon’s eldest child was born 16 January and baptized 14 February 1668/9 at St Nicholas, Warwick. The register for St Nicholas records the marriage on 17 May 1668 of Joseph Gibbons and Anne Twycrosse. The register also records the burial of “Anne the wife of Joseph Gibbins” in 1687.
