Evidence

A 1199 grant to Aberconwy Abbey refers to the grove of Iarddur ap Cyndellw in Creuddyn (Pryce no. 218).

Peniarth 131 (p. 93), a manuscript by Gutun Owain written about 1475, and Peniarth 127 (p. 152), a manuscript written about 1510, give the name string as: Iarddur ap Kynddelw ap Trahaiarn ap Bod ap Kysgen ap Helic ap Glannoc. (Bartrum, “Pedigrees of the Patriarchs” 10). There is some variation in later manuscripts which Bartrum considers less reliable.

Peniarth 134 (p. 132), a manuscript by Gruffudd Hiraethog written between 1550 and 1562, has: Iarddur ap Kynddel ap Trahayarn ap Bod ap Kysgen ap Helic ap Glynnoc ap Gwgon gleddyfrydd ap Kariadoc freichfras ap Llyr merini ap Einion yrth ap Kvnedda wledic.
