In about 1138, Robert founded the church of Aston (Eyton 1:200).

In 1165, Robert held the fees of one knight (Aston Eyre) and 1 ½ muntators (Middleton in Withyford Magna) in the Barony of FitzAlan. (Eyton 9:309).
