Relationships

Father: Thomas de Crewe.

This relationship is given by Ormerod (3:313) and by Carter. It is recorded in inquisitions post mortem of Thomas (CIPM Edw.I, vol. 3, nos. 180 and 181; vol. 4, no. 250). It is supported from evidence from the plea rolls given by Wrottesley (p. 119).

Mother: unknown.

Ormerod (3:313) gives Avice, who later married Robert de Thykenes. But the difference in ages between Joan and her sisters make it seem likely that Joan was a child of a previous marriage.

Spouse: Richard de Praers.

This relationship is given by Ormerod (3:301, 3:313) and by Carter. It is recorded in an inquisition post mortem for her father (CIPM Edw. I, vol. 4, no. 250).
