Commentary
In his 1601 will, William Beard of Standish names his brother Henry and Henry’s children, thus making clear that Henry was the Henry of this page. William also names his mother and “father in law” John Knight.
In his 1569 will, which is partially torn away, John Beard of Standish names his sons William and Henry. He also names his wife Sylvester.
The Standish parish register records the marriage in 1575 of John Knight and Sylvester Beard. It records Sylvester’s burial in 1626 at an advanced age.
The evidence is clear that Henry’s parents were John Beard and his wife Sylvester.
