Commentary

The 1590 will of John Bushell of Thornton (which is near Frodsham) mentions his eldest son John. However, in his will he asks to be buried in the parish church of Thornton, whereas the John Bushell of this page asked to be buried in the parish church at Frodsham “in the place where my predessessores have bene Buried.” This means that either the John of the 1590 will was not in fact buried at Thornton or, more likely, that the John of the 1590 will was not the father of this John.
