This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Gruffudd ap Cynfyn 5). The reliability of the late sources Bartrum is using is unclear, as they seem unaware of another of Gruffudd’s wives (Senena). Beverley Smith (p. 39 fn) notes that there is no reference to Catrin in record sources outside the genealogies, and he expresses some doubt (pp. 37-38) about the reality of Rhanullt's relationship with Gruffudd.
