The baptism is recorded in the bishop's transcripts of the parish registers. It is the only baptism in the FamilySearch index in Lancashire which is of a date which makes a 1756 marriage possible. It is roughly consistent with the age given in Elizabeth's burial record. The baptism record of Elizabeth's daughter Betty Almond gives the mother's parents as "John & Betty Laithwait".

Elizabeth’s baptism record gives her mother’s name as Elizabeth. Her surname is given in her marriage record.

Spouse: Andrew Livsey (died 1757). Married 14 May 1756 in Wigan.

The marriage is recorded in the parish register.

Spouse: Roger Almond (about 1730 - 1818). Married 19 December 1779 in Wigan.

The marriage is recorded in the parish register.

Commentary

Elizabeth is called “Betty Laithwait” in her daughter Betty’s baptism record and “Elizabeth Livsey” in the record of her marriage to Roger Almond. This is easily explained if an Elizabeth Laithwait married in Wigan someone named Livsey who died before 1779, which in fact occurred.

Gerard Bancks was a witness to both of Elizabeth's marriages, but this is not significant as he was a "professional" witness -- that is, he was a witness for most of the marriages in the parish during the period.
