The 1584 will of Roger Scholecroft of Farnworth mentions Roger Diconson and his children Ellen, William, and James.

The 1589 will of Richard Skolecroft of Farnworth mentions his daughter, wife to Roger Dicconson, and Roger Dicconson’s daughter Ellen and son William.

The 1594 will of James Dixon of Bolton mentions his sister Christian Lomasse and his sister’s children Alis Lomasse (now his servant), Edward Lomasse, and Anne Macant. His “cousin” Andrew Macant is an executor.

The 1594 will of William Dixon of Bolton appears to be missing.

Commentary

This is my suggested construction of the family. (Obviously, it is not certain.)

Roger Dicconson, born say about 1480, appears in the 1524 Lay Subsidy under Deane.

Possibly two of his two sons were Henry Dycson and Roger Dycson, born say about 1510, who appear in the 1543 Lay Subsidy under Farnworth. Henry perhaps appears as Henry Dicconson in the 1563 Lay Subsidy under Eccles.

The John Dickson of this page was a son of Henry, and was born say about 1540 and possibly married in 1568.
