Relationships

Father: Crinán, abbot of Dunkeld (died 1045).

This relationship is given by Keats-Rohan (p. 221).

(possible) Mother: Bethóc, daughter of Malcolm II, king of Scots.

This relationship is given by Baldwin, who notes that “no primary source explicitly identifies the Crinán who was Maldred’s father with the Crinán who was Duncan’s father. Woolf (p. 250) states that even if the two Crináns were the same person, it is unlikely that Bethóc was Maldred's mother.

Spouse: Ealdgyth.

This relationship is given by Keats-Rohan (p. 221) and by Woolf.

Children:

Gospatric, earl of Northumbria.
