Relationships

Father: Cornelius Dudley.

Mother: Ann Hoo.

These relationships are given by Glazebrook (pp. 59-62). Thomas is described as “Thomas Dudley of Tipton, gent., son and heir of Cornelius Dudley, deceased” in a deed of 29 Henry VIII (p. 60, citing Beltz). Thomas Dudley is given as the son of Cornelius Dudley and Ann Hoo in a pedigree in Harl. MS. 6128, although his wife is given as Elizabeth Swynnerton there (p. 59).

Spouse: Agnes Swancote.

This relationship is given by Glazebrook (pp. 59-62), citing Beltz, who was working from the Dudley family papers, where apparently an Agnes is attested as the wife of Thomas Dudley in 29 Henry VIII (1537-8); and also citing the 1557 will of Thomas Swancote of Eccleshall, Staffordshire, which mentions his daughter Agnes Dudley and her husband Thomas Dudley. I have been unable to track down the will.

Children:

(Complete source citations for facts about the children on this page are currently outside of the scope of this project.)

Thomas Dudley is said to have married Elizabeth Swynnerton.

Jane Dudley (buried 3 March 1602/3 in Eccleshall, Staffordshire) married Hugh Swynnerton.

A daughter married Randolph Machin in about 1585.

Robert Dudley.

William Dudley (died about 1598) married Ann Salter 30 August 1584 in Albrighton (Shifnal), Shropshire.
