Marriage:


William’s marriage bond describes the couple as “William Degg of the parish of Stone Batchelor aged about 21 years and Elizabeth Parker of the pish of Chebsey widow.” It is dated 4 April 1715.


Possible burial (St Michael’s, Stone; 1725):

Gulielmus Degg de Hedg nook sepultus fuit Duodecimo die mensis Septemb. 1725.


Commentary


The baptisms of children to a father William stop in 1724, so it would seem that the 1725 burial must be his. But the burial may be that of a William Degg of Long Hedge Corner who was the father of a William Degg baptized in Stone in 1706.
