Ann Baynton

Events

(probable) Date of Baptism: 24 August 1742.

(probable) Place of Baptism: Astley, Worcestshire.

I assume this is the right baptism, although the entry gives the mother's name as Ann rather than Elizabeth and Ann's probable burial record gives her age at death as 73, which would put her birth around 1746.

(probable) Date of Burial: 30 May 1819

(probable) Place of Burial: Astley, Worcestershire.

The information is from a parish record transcription. Ann is described as “of Stourport”.

Relationships

Father: James Baynton.

Mother: Elizabeth Darby.

James mentions his daughter Ann and his wife Elizabeth in his will. Ann's half-brother Benjamin Baynton mentions her in his will. Elizabeth's marriage record gives her surname.

Spouse: Allen Hammond (1736 - 1809). Married 1 February 1762 in Birmingham, Warwickshire (St Philip’s).

The marriage is given in the parish register.

Commentary

The assumption that the burial is of the wife of Allen Hammond is based on her residence at Stourport, which is where their daughter was living at the time.
