An Elizabeth, wife of Nathaniel Arnold, was buried 9 March 1684 in Southam, but the will of Thomas Waring names Elizabeth Arnold (presumably born in 1702) as his granddaughter and Nathaniel names his wife Elizabeth in his 1738 will. Perhaps the Elizabeth buried in 1684 was a wife of Nathaniel’s father, also named Nathaniel, although this would seem to mean he had four wives (A wife Mary was buried in 1656, the mother of his children in the 1650s and 1660s was named Mary, and his wife was named Mary in his 1695 will.)
