George Key (died 1665)

Events

Date of Birth: unknown.

Place of Birth: unknown.

Date of Death: between 31 March and 6 April 1665.

Place of Death: unknown (probably Priors Marston, Warwickshire).

The dates are when George made his will and when the probate inventory was taken.

Relationships

Father: unknown.

The Guyes Key buried in Priors Marston in 1662 was probably George's father or uncle.

Mother: unknown.

Spouse: Elizabeth Middleton. Married 21 May 1638 in Banbury.

The marriage is recorded in the parish register. The will of Elizabeth's nephew Thomas Middleton names his aunt, "Elizabeth Keu of Marson". Presumably George's widow was the Elizabeth recorded as living in his house in the 1670, 1671, and 1673 hearth taxes. She was possibly buried in 1682.

(probable) Brother: Guyes Key.

Guyes was a witness to George’s will. The 1704 will of Hannah Key, spinster, names as her cousin John Key the son of Guyes, and also names as her cousin John Key, cordwainer, who was the son of George.
