Rachal Hinde (baptized 29 October 1752).
Martha Hinde (baptized 26 June 1757).
Isaac Hinde (baptized 21 August 1764 - buried 19 September 1818) married Jane Lancaster 1 July 1786 in Whitehaven.
Agness Hinde (baptized 7 August 1767).
John Hinde (baptized 20 October 1769) married Esther Haddon 8 September 1787 in St Bees, Cumberland.
Samuel Hinde (baptized 25 September 1770).
Thomas Hinde (baptized 23 July 1773).
Betty Hinde (baptized 23 September 1781). The baptism date seems a little late for Martha Drape to be her mother. Perhaps Betty was born a few years earlier, or perhaps her mother is a different Martha. On the other hand, forty-nine is not an impossible age for a mother to give birth at.
Commentary
Martha’s parentage
The 1752 marriage bond for Martha Drape’s marriage gives her age as 20. This fits a 1732 baptism entry for Martha Drape in the register for St Nicholas’, Whitehaven. The entry records Martha’s father as William Drape. William had several children baptized in Whitehaven starting in 1726. A few of the baptism entries record the mother’s name as Martha.
The bishop’s transcripts of the registers for Holy Trinity, Whitehaven, record the married in 1725 of William Drape and Martha Wood.
1744 will of William Drape of Whitehaven names his wife Martha, and daughter Martha Drape.
