Relationships

Father: Ivan Vladislav, tsar of Bulgaria.

Mother: Maria.

These relationships are given by Varzos (p. 88 n) and by the PBW, although the latter gives a source for the father being Ivan’s uncle Samuel [Passage from Bryennios here]. The PmbZO states that Traianos was presumably a younger son of Ivan. Skylitzes (16.42// p. 340) gives these relationships, but only in manuscripts E and U.

Spouse: unknown.

Settipani proposes that she was a daughter of Basileios Kontostephanos.
