Commentary
In the 1634 Visitation, Dr Richard Catcher, a descendant of Thomas Catcher (died 1562) and Sir John Catcher (a descendant of Edward Catcher) agree that Richard descends from an elder brother of Sir John’s ancestor. The chronology suggests that their common ancestor is the John of this page. Also, Edward in his will makes a bequest to his brother’s son Thomas Catcher, and Thomas Catcher of Hackney’s heir was named Thomas.
