The Lancashire VCH (6:sub Walton-le-Dale) gives Alesia as the wife of Sir Robert. Ormerod (5:574) and the Lancashire VCH (1:372-373) give Alice, daughter of Gilbert Woodcock, as Sir Robert’s mother, but the Lancashire VCH (6:sub Walton-le-Dale fn 22) states that this is an error.
