Bartrum gives Ieuan as the son of Cadwgon, the son of Llywarch Fychan, the son of Llywarch Goch, the son of Iorwerth, the son of Llywarch Howlbwrch, chamberlain and treasurer to Gruffudd ap Llywelyn ap Seisyll. A praise poem by Guto'r Glyn to Margred's grandson Thomas Salusbury, probably written about 1484, alludes his relationship with Llywarch ap Brân, which was presumably through Margred.
