Lothar (II), count of Walbeck

Lothar participated in a plot to assassinate King Otto I in 941, losing all his property as a result. He eventually was restored after paying a heavy fine and founding the canonry at Walbeck as an act of atonement. Lothar was placed under the submission of Margrave Berthold, who married Lothar’s daughter Eilika. [Warner, pp. 49-50]
