William Guest

Events

Date of Birth: about 1769.

Place of Birth: unknown.

The date of birth is calculated from the age at death (62) given in William's burial record.

(probable) Date of Baptism: 25 June 1769.

(probable) Place of Baptism: Upper Arley, Worcestershire.

The baptism is recorded in the parish register. I give the baptism as "probable", as my only reason for supposing that this is the correct baptism is that it is in the right neighbourhood and the date agrees with the age at death given in William's burial record.

Date of Burial: 30 December 1831.

Place of Burial: Kidderminster, Worcestershire (St Mary's).

The burial is recorded in the parish register.

Relationships

(probable) Father: William Guest.

William's father is named in his baptism record.

(probable) Mother: Ann Humphreys.

William's baptism record gives his mother's first name. Her surname is given in her (first) marriage record.

Spouse: Mary.

Mary is named in baptism records of her children.

Commentary

My assumption that the William who was buried in 1831 is the same William that was the father of the children on this page is based on these two pieces of evidence:

(1) The age at death (62) is a reasonable age for someone having children between 1795 and 1812.

(2) The abode of the William buried in 1831 (Hoo Lane) is also the street that the eldest son of the William of this page, Thomas, was living on in the 1841 and 1851 censuses.

I admit that this evidence does not seem to be quite conclusive.
