Bartrum (Marchudd 13) gives Gronwy a number of 10 in his generational dating system, implying a birth date of, very roughly, about 1330.


Date of Death: 22 March 1382.

Place of Death: Kent.

The date and place are given by Roberts (p. 200). Carr (ODNB) gives 1382 and the place. Gronwy apparently drowned.


Place of Burial: the Franciscan friary at Llan-faes in Anglesey.

The place is given by Carr (ODNB). The monument of Gronwy and his wife Myfanwy is thought to be that now at Penmynydd church.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Marchudd 13). Roberts (p. 198) and Carr (1975 p. 56) state that Gronwy's mother was Tudur's second wife, Margaret ferch Thomas ap Llywelyn.


Spouse: Myfanwy ferch Iorwerth Ddu ab Ednyfed Gam.
