Another day, another ? You fill in the blank!
In Literature 9 we had fun reviewing Poe's story "The Cask of the Amontillado". We watched a fun Toby Keith video that mirrored (musically and humorously) this story. We took a quiz (using our notes) over the story. Then we began to review the vocabulary. We'll finish up this famous story tomorrow.
In English 10 the focus is entirely on this last speech. Hopefully I'm giving enough time in class to work on the audience surveys and outlines, so that this weekend the focus can be on rehearsal. The time limit is 7-9 minutes. So many students haven't made time with previous speeches and it's really hurt their overall grade. I hope many are taking this final speech seriously. It is worth 150 points, and the pass option is off the table.
In American Government we finished up our discussion of the House and the Senate. We reviewed the concept of reapportionment (assigning a number of seats to each state), redistricting (the redrawing of lines according to population), and gerrymandering (drawing those same lines according to political parties). Playing the game www.redistrictinggame.com really helps cement this concept. We took a quiz over 5-1 (using the lecture notes). Also students were asked to turn in their questions over chapter 5-1.
In Law we also took a quiz over Chapter 1-1. Then time was given to work on their presentations on Ancient Codes. Tomorrow they will present them, and then we'll discuss the sources of our laws. It's always fun to have a more relaxed class, and with four students, it's pretty relaxed!
Hope Wednesday found you happy! The weekend is near - sort of.
