I swear the most difficult Monday is always the one that follows graduation. With the seniors gone there is a finality to the year. Even if there are things that need to get done in class, it's bittersweet.
In Literature 9 we finished our coloring assignment. I had a few missteps in it, but they are difficult to create. Hopefully everyone liked completing it rather than listening to me talk! :-) We will finish our discussion tomorrow and move onto Robert Frost's "Birches" and "Mending Wall."
In Sophomore English we finished watching Romeo and Juliet. It's always so difficult to watch that final scene because it seems like everything is against them. Then we reviewed our assignment on end punctuation. We are so addicted to the exclamation point. We communicate with emojis and think that if I use one exclamation point, then I should use three. It is a rare time that we need to use the exclamation point. An assignment reviewing commas is due for tomorrow.
In American Literature we finished our discussion of Of Mice and Men. We discussed how it reflects realism, the author's style, and the motifs/symbols found in the book. Then each pod divided up the questions related to Mark Twain (most received 6-7 each). We will then go over those questions tomorrow. Tomorrow we will also discuss his famous story "The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calavaras County". A lot needs to happen during tomorrow's class period.
Good luck to the golfers today. I hope their putts only find the bottom of the hole!
