I can not believe that I have to have the windows open in the middle of December!! This is awesome.
In Literature 9 we finished the skills portion of our reading tests. We discussed the difference between fiction and nonfiction (as we're going to be starting our nonfiction unit soon.) We drew colors for our Amazing Race activity and then discussed the rules and locations for the game. I'm excited and I think they are too.
In English 10 it was another day of conferences. Everyone had to show me their three different thesis and evidence of their research. This speech requires five sources, two of them need to be non-internet. Since everyone seems to be meeting me half way, speeches will begin on Monday. Hopefully we'll be able to finish before Christmas break. For tomorrow two introductory statements - grab out attention please!
In American Government it seemed like we laughed a lot. Well, we did begin class talking about Donald Trump, and that will start anyone out laughing. We then discussed federalism (delegated, reserved and concurrent powers). Everyone then completed a worksheet where they had to label the powers federal, state, local, or concurrent. It's all about the scope and geography of the issue.
All in all a great day. I worked hard today, and I'm tired, but it's off to speech I go. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
