Looking at the calendar and realizing it's December makes me want to have a little snow - not cold - just some snow. Then it can melt and go away!
In Literature 9 we started playing a little Scattegories - what words are synonymous with the word 'red'? Then we discussed 'red' emotions. We started to read "The Scarlet Ibis" and looked at the colors used in the opening paragraphs as well as picked out the foreshadowing. Is this story going to be a happy one or a sad one? For Monday, everyone should read the story.
In English 10 we were still on our personal narrative speeches. Each class has two left for Monday. Also for Monday, everyone is to come to class with three possible topics for our next informative speech. You have to be willing to live with whatever is on your card.
In American Lit (we switched American Lit and American Government around because of ASVABs)., we created new vocabulary groups. We also reviewed the annotations of the poetry related to duty. I distributed Patrick Henry's speech and ask that everyone listen to the MP3 file that I have on Moodle. Listen and annotate.
Have a great weekend everyone!
