What a weekend! I had such great intentions, but feel like I got nothing completed. A new week, a new opportunity.
In Literature 9 we watched the opening scene to Shrek 2 and identified all the allusions it contained. I really appreciate this Facebook group that helps with little mini-lessons like this. We then worked on deciphering the setting of our story by researching various clues the story gives us. For tomorrow, everyone is supposed to complete the eleven plot questions.
In English 10 we're still working on parallelism. We reviewed Exercise 1, watched a Schmoop video, and then continued with exercise two. For tomorrow, everyone is supposed to try and write their thesis in a parallel statement.
In American Government, we started class with a current events discussion. Charles Manson died today, and several students did not know who he was. We also discussed a story I found that was "Dishrag to Riches." Then we went on to play a game "How much money can you make?" It was funny how fourth hour figured it out so quickly, but they still had people choose red. During the last three rounds, however, everyone chose blue. This simulation is to demonstrate how difficult it was to get the thirteen colonies to work together. No homework for Wednesday.
Today my stress level is so high, but I know that in the end everything will work out. See you tomorrow.
