So I started sneezing this morning, and I swear I haven't stopped once. It's beginning to hurt! But if that's the price to pay because Spring is around the corner - hand me a Kleenix!
In Literature 9 we took our quiz over the chapters that encompassed the trial. It's always such a sad day when we face the "guilty" verdict in the Tom Robinson trial. So many of us want to believe that life is always fair - even in fiction. We then started a discussion of honorifics - using the correct title (Mr., Mrs., Miss, etc.) When it comes to this book, honorifics are a sign of respect and dignity.
In English 10 we read in partners Act 2, Scene 2 - the famous balcony scene. Partnering up students is always interesting. We had some unusual Juliets, as well as some quirky Romeos. Either way we shared this famous conversation. We will continue to study this famous scene next week.
In American Literature it was all about the Lost Generation and the Modernists. Four people presented resumes today: Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, John Steinbeck, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. I distributed a handout on the Lost Generation, which we will continue to work with on Thursday of next week. Then we will finish up Great American Novels and move on to poetry and drama.
In Law we finally took our 5-1 quiz. Then we started our conversation about the principles, accessories, and accomplices in a crime. We will finish that up and move on to the rights of the accused (as given to us by the Constitution).
Please enjoy your Easter break. It is my favorite time of the year! He is Risen - He is Risen indeed.
