I nearly forgot to blog tonight. With the power going off and things coming to a stand still, my mind completely forgot to tell you about our day.
In English II we reviewed the last of the vocabulary words. Posted to Moodle are some review activities, so I hope that many took advantage of that opportunity. We also finished our discussion of copyright, fair use, creative commons, and public domain. I hope we're learning to be ethical and responsible digital citizens. I changed my mind about the outline for our quotation speech. It will be due on Thursday. That should give people another class period researching and working on the details for their two to four minute presentation.
In American Literature we reviewed Act I of The Crucible and nearly got through all of Act II. Several students still haven't completed the Salem Witch Trials journal, and that was another zero recorded in the grade book. Hopefully we can get that turned around.
In Literature 9 we were really busy. We talked about narrative, expository, technical, and persuasive text structure. We learned about a new style of notetaking. Hopefully it will be something they can use in the future. In seventh hour we finished our discussion of imagery. We then talked about the commonly confused words all right/alright; among and between; and altogether/all together (5th hour). We still have some catching up to do in seventh hour. In both classes we managed to finish our discussion of narrative essay. They are to work on a crossword puzzle that reviews the first four pieces of literature we've read in class.
Hopefully you can manage to stay dry!
