Today seemed like such a chaotic day. I'm not quite sure why, but it seemed like I was running from one thing to another without much break or connection.
In Literature 9 we were really dragging first hour, but fifth hour seemed to perk up a bit. We reviewed the rest of the vocabulary as well as discussed Kohlberg's Moral Development. We didn't get too far with Themes, Conflicts and humor, but hopefully we'll finish tomorrow. The last quiz will be on Wednesday with notebooks due at the end of the week.
In English 10 we spent the entire class period finishing up Act IV. We reviewed extensively the events of Scenes 1-3, and then read the "death" scene of Juliet. We then took our quizzes, but in groups. Individuals were supposed to talk, review, and agree on the answers. For the most part it went great.
In American Government, the classroom was set up as close to the House arrangement as possible. The Rules Committee gave two bills a rule and we started our debate. On Wednesday, we will swap to the Senate and debate the other classes bills. We've had some great conversations, and also it seems like people are getting "into" studying the feasibility of the bills. We will finish up the debate ends of things on Wednesday. That will leave Friday and Monday to discuss the Presidency. Not a lot of time, but enough. We're doing a lot of it through the flipped classroom. It's going to stink for those that don't watch the videos, but choices have consequences.
In Law we finished our discussion of intentional torts. We didn't get to Negligent Torts, but hopefully we will finish those up tomorrow. I hope that we can get to the crime scene by Thursday. Goals - Goals - Goals!
Have a great day! It's 85 degrees out and most of us are looking fondly towards summer.
