A weekend full of joy - a music contest went wonderfully and a new grandson joined our family! Tate Alan Taylor joined the world at 2:23 AM on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He weighed a heft 8 lbs 15 1/2 oz and was 20 1/2 inches tall. I look forward to getting to know this little stud.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the events of Chapters 11-15 by looking over our summaries, discussing newly introduced characters, and trying to name the chapters. Then we took our quiz. Everyone received via email a Padlet link where people are supposed to put their "Expand Your Vocabulary". Tomorrow, read Chapter 16 and have the vocabulary completed.
In English 10 we reviewed the events of Act III, Scene 1. We compared it to the scenes from earlier in the play. In fifth hour we got all the way done, but in first hour we still need to finish the scene. Fifth hour should review and answer the Act III study guide questions.
In American Government we traveled to Congress.gov and looked at upcoming possible legislation. We learned the several of the major leagues (NFL, PGA, LPGA, and the NHL) are given nonprofit status as they originally said they weren't in the business of making money. Are you kidding me!? Then we reviewed a FAN bill, blackouts for games, and the controversial issue of milk. Then we began to review the leadership found in Congress.
In Law we got a little side-tracked (imagine that). We had time to review the defenses, but we didn't get the trial information reviewed. I had hoped to have a quiz over 5-2, but I think that is going to have to wait a few days. Oh well, it was a good discussion.
Tonight is prom decorating. I hope all goes well - no fighting and a lot to get done.
