Congratulations to the football team on their win last night. I hope you can crush Spirit Lake on Friday night. Good Luck to the volleyball team on their trip to the regional finals tomorrow. Boy we've had so much success this year in our fall athletics. It's truly amazing for our little school. I know the Music Man will be another "notch" in our belt of successes.
We only had fifth hour for Literature 9. We reviewed the vocabulary related to "Sweet Potato Pie". We also went over another section of our Point of View Workshop. I think we're slowly beginning to understand the importance of determining point of view. Then everyone was put into a group of three to answer the questions related to the story. One part of the worksheet is about setting, and everyone would have to do a little internet searching.
In English 10 sixth hour gave the last of their vocabulary presentations. Then we watched a sample "tour" speech. The rest of the class was used to find information on their location. I'm looking forward to getting a tour of buildings, memorials, and statues from around the world.
American Literature classes (3rd and 4th) only had thirty minutes. By the time we reviewed the Age of Reason and Ben Franklin, there was little more to do than take our quiz. Everyone should be working on posting their nonfiction book to Moodle. I hope everyone is planning on starting strong this second quarter.
Tonight is parent-teacher conferences, and even after nearly thirty years of teaching, I still get a little nervous and apprehensive. You'd think that after all this time, it would be "old hat". I plan on finishing at 7:00 PM so we can still have dress rehearsal tonight. Have a great day.
