Everyone is getting geared up for homecoming. What a fun time of the year!
In Literature 9 we worked on an author's purpose workshop. Then we completed our vocabulary lesson for "A Brother's Crime" and "Of Dry Goods and Black Bow Ties". Finally the rest of the time was looking up the words for "Black Boy". Eighth hour needs to read this autobiography for Monday (we don't have class tomorrow because of the early out!).
In English 10 we reviewed the complement worksheet. Several people decided not to complete this, and it hurts participation points. Then we listened to four product endorsement speeches. We've had some wonderful speeches - everything from Hot Pockets, Olive Gardens, English bulldogs, to Pepperjacks. I've really enjoyed listening to them! I can definitely see growth.
In American Literature we finished our notes on "The Highwayman" (3rd hour). Then we took a Moodle quiz on Washington Irving and "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". By the looks of the quizzes, they weren't very good (yikes). We then we took notes on author's style. Finally for tomorrow complete a story map for the story.
In Law we reviewed our Bill of Rights worksheet. Then we took a Moodle quiz. We will save our "law article" for Monday.
Tomorrow is an early out and then speech contest on Saturday. It will be a long weekend.
