A three-day weekend and everyone seems to be dragging a bit.
In Literature 9 we started our discussion of "Sayonara". We made a list of all the ways we can say good-bye, and we really made quite a list. Then we re-read the story and identified the many examples of imagery in the story. Finally we discussed the argument she presented. Remember an argument has four parts - assertion, support, other side, and a final recommendation. For tomorrow everyone is supposed to complete the worksheet on Analyze Rhetorical Devices - the chart at the bottom of the worksheet.
In English 10 it was all about the research for their debate. Everyone is working on putting together a rational, logical argument. These are always so fun, but can be hard to construct.
In American Government we basically discussed the Bill of Rights the entire class period. We did take a few minutes to talk about current events, but in third period (in particular) they were pretty quiet. We discussed prior restraint, slander, libel, and the due process amendments. Finish up the Bill of Rights handout that was given to you by Mr. Judge on Thursday of last week.
Law: Despite Jacob being gone, we needed to continue with class. We reviewed notes for the Federal Court System. We discussed the district courts and the court of appeals. We will review that information and move onto the Supreme Court tomorrow.
Such a busy day. Trying to keep a lot of balls, bowling pins, and flaming arrows up in the air at the same time. I'm not sure I can keep this up!
