What day is it? Yep, it's h-u-m-p day. I swear that Geiko commercial gets a lot of free coverage on Wednesday. The camel's voice makes all the difference.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the story "Sayonara". Anne Morrow Lindbergh was quite the adventurer: she was a pilot, author, mother, and advocate. We watched her plea for aid during World War II and also a short biography. We then reviewed the vocabulary for "Sayonara". The thesis of an essay is really the main idea. We took each section and boiled down the main ideas to see how it supported the thesis that "Sayonara" is a perfect way to say good-bye.
In English 10 we had a few stragglers finish up their Six Word Memoir Speeches. Next we reviewed the vocabulary words for Attitudes and Appearances. Finally we began our discussion of the importance of a vocal personality. We watched a quick clip of Ferris Bueller's teacher, then defined oral interpretation, and then compared it to acting.
In American Literature we discussed the power of democracy and free speech. We listened to Creedance Clearwater Revivals' song "Fortunate Son" and discussed the power of the musician and democracy. Then we finished up our notes on the Six Economic Functions of a Government. They worked on a Moodle Activity that at times was a little ugly, but we were just using it as a check for understanding. They were also reminded to work on the Rags to Riches Project - Top 400 Richest Americans. I'm anxious to read their papers.
I won't be in school tomorrow, but I know things will go smoothly. See you Friday!
