Back at school. It's getting better as the day goes along, but this morning wasn't so easy.
In Literature 9 we tried to get everyone on the same page. We shared the Miranda Lambert video "How Dare You" and compared it to "The Scarlet Ibis". We reviewed our point of view and vocabulary for this story. It isn't going to take much for us to get together, and that's nice. It's good to see everyone again.
In English 10 we did our tour speeches. There's really a big difference between second hour and sixth hour. Sixth hour presented these wonderful speeches on various places around the world, and then second hour (who had an entire extra week) were unprepared and little rehearsed. It's too bad since this is a test grade.
In American Government we discussed the people, plans, and compromises (I really wanted another "p" word, but couldn't come up with one) of the Constitutional Convention. We discussed James Madison, William Paterson, and Roger Sherman. We detailed the Virginia Plan, the New Jersey Plan, and the Great Compromises. We then reviewed the 3/5ths Compromise, interstate vs. intrastate regulation, and no taxation of exports. When you write it down like this it seems like we got a lot into our 42 minutes class period.
I'm glad I forced myself to come to school today. I think I was finding it too easy to lay in bed. Now that I'm up and about, I feel better as each hour passes. Have a great week everyone!
