Today is a day where I realized that I have too much on my plate. Between prepping for class, grading papers, and keeping up with JMC, the trip to New York, working on the play, and oh - I'm a wife and mom - I feel a bit overwhelmed!
In Literature 9 we had fun reviewing our study guide and playing a game of Jeopardy. Hopefully this will help everyone to feel prepared for tomorrow's test.
In English 10 we worked on our personal experience speeches. Outlines, notecards, and rehearsals must all be done as people will present tomorrow regardless.
In American Government we played Rock, Paper, Scissors Economics. Using only tootsie rolls and "Sixlets", we hopefully came to understand the inequality of capitalism, competition, and personal property. After a five minute round of Rock, Paper, Scissors, we then practiced socialism where all the "profits" were evenly divided. Then as a socialist government, I went around and claimed 60% of the profits to pay for the services like education, health care, and welfare state obligations. We then had time to review the elements of capitalism. Everyone was assigned a Rags to Riches assignment (the link and directions are on Moodle). It was a fun activity!
I hope everyone has a chance to relax. That is one of my favorite things about Wednesday - no school obligations. Of course many of us have church, but for many of us that isn't an obligation, but an opportunity. Relax and recharge everyone!
